At People House, we believe the first step to becoming the best that we can be is to accept our total self as we are now and the experience of life as an opportunity for growth. By teaching and practicing compassion and accepting each individual for who and what they are in the here and now, it enables us to create love, joy, peace, and fulfillment in our life experience. We offer programs that advocate for living a life of conscious awareness and responsibility, while acknowledging that we are each constantly progressing along a unique path where we will all need some help somewhere along the way.
Our Services
Affordable Counseling Program
We offer affordable, low-cost mental health counseling to those who might otherwise be unable to experience the transformative power and support of professional counseling. Our perspective is holistic, starting with the premise that the development and integration of mind, body, and spirit is necessary to become healthy, fulfilled, and productive.
Practitioners
You can find a variety of holistic professionals at People House. Our practitioners conduct their practice of healing, education and/or growth according to the ethics and guidelines of their particular field. In addition, they maintain a belief in the wisdom of the individual that is in harmony with the basic People House philosophy.
Counseling Internship Placements
This is an ideal site for individuals who are Master’s level student in counseling, psychology or marriage and family therapy and thrive in a supportive environment that also requires personal independence and team collaboration. It is best suited to mature candidates who eventually plan to do private practice, although that is not a requirement.
Spiritual Community
At People House, we believe in a few, simple guidelines, which help us increase our experience of Love. These are suggestions, not requirements. We encourage investigation and consideration of all beliefs.

Remembering Paul Zweig, a Beloved Pillar of the People House Community
It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Paul Zweig, a cherished volunteer and pillar of the People House community. For over 20 years, Paul generously volunteered his time, expertise, and compassionate spirit to the Affordable Counseling Program to provide accessible mental health care for all and to our mission as a center for personal and spiritual growth.

In Honor of Paul
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to People House in Paul's memory. Your generous contribution will help us continue our important work and ensure that Paul's legacy of compassion and service lives on through the support we offer our community.

Joseph Campbell was in his late 70s when he dissed the woman’s journey as outlined by Jungian analyst Maureen Murdock in her 1990 book, The Heroine’s…

The sunlight bounces off the myriad shades of burnished auburn and gold as I rake leaves into plump piles. The azure sky is a deeper blue in autumn as the angle of the sun dips lower. The air has a bit of a chill. In Colorado the sun is quite intense and so the temperature…

At various times throughout my forays into writing I have delved into the current political climate of the United States. And yet again, we find ourselves at one of the most divisive times in our history. I’ve touched on issues with confirmation bias and the inability to accept opposing viewpoints based on the information targeted…
