Our lives – yours and mine – have both similarities and differences. Each is a tapestry, woven with many complex and beautiful threads that represent experiences. Some of the threads were given at birth and other strands continue to be stitched in as we grow. I believe we each have a story to be told, and my heart is to create a space for you to find the bravery to tell yours. There are moments in life that can seem too difficult to put into words, but it can be through the process of sitting together that you can find the strength to give voice to the silent parts of your story.
Counseling can be a vulnerable process, and I completely respect the time it takes to build a relationship. When working together, you can expect my upmost respect and tenderness around heart-filled topics. We have secrets for a reason, and they are often charged with both emotion and confusion. Understanding this, I offer a space that is judgement free and safe for you to explore the vulnerabilities and unspoken parts of yourself.
On a personal note, I have spent the past decade living in Colorado. I love being in the mountains – hiking, biking, and camping. When not outside, I enjoy having a good cup of coffee and an insightful book by my side. Finding new coffee shops and strolling through antique stores are favored pastimes. I love adventure and believe that when in nature I connect to both the rawness and beauty of the landscape. I relate to the great mountaineer Sir Edmund Hillary, “It is not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves.” I have summited my own mountains within life, and believe it is out of this work that I am better able to sit with you in your valleys and on you mountain tops.
Professionally speaking, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Gottman Level 1 & 2 Certified, and a Nationally Certified Counselor. Currently, I am in training to become a Certified Sex Therapist through AASECT (American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists). I have a broad range of experience supporting individuals and couples – specifically within LGBTQIA* and CNM/ENM communities. I believe the therapeutic relationship is vital to establishing safety and support in therapy. You can expect my undivided attention and non-judgmental presence throughout the entirety of our work. Each session will be unique and tailored specifically to your needs and goals – incorporating techniques from existentialism, movement based interventions, trauma-informed care, DBT, and nature based reflections.
Whatever your story may have been and is yet to become, I would be honored to share in it with you.
