The National Association for Self-Esteem defines self-esteem as “the experience of being capable of managing life’s challenges and being worthy of happiness.”  When we learn to manage the challenges in our lives and allow ourselves to experience happiness, we are taking important steps toward healing.

I work with people who are trying to manage trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.  I also work with people with substance abuse issues.   I think our journey together is for you to heal and to help you build your self-esteem.

I believe that therapy is a safe place to tell your story and to learn skills to manage your life more effectively.  I work with people in a client-centered, humanistic way.

Therapy is meant to be your journey.  I am there to help you along that journey and to help you learn to heal.  I do not believe that therapy is meant to go on forever.  However, at times you may feel the need to touch base or deal with new issues.

I have been a counselor for 20 years.  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, which means I have a master’s degree in counseling and have had over 2 years of supervised counseling experience.  I am a Certified Addictions Counselor Level III.  This means I have had extensive course work in addictions education and at least 5000 hours of experience counseling people who have substance abuse issues.

I charge $100 a session and offer a sliding scale as needed. I accept Victim’s Compensation.
